So the first wedding of 2012 for me and it was -4C – wow it was cold and very slippery! Worth Church in West Sussex is absolutely lovely though and the whole day was even more special with the influence of the Sea Cadets and Royal Marine Cadets lining the pathway to the church and then providing a guard of honour as Sally and Darren left the church. The Church with the snow on the ground looked stunning as Sally & Darren walked back up the pathway. A reception followed at the nearby Europa hotel – the guests were very brave and patient for a few family group shots outside on the terrace and a few bride and groom shots. Great day – and I’m sure Sally & Darren are now heading off to a far warmer climate!

Hello all,

First of all my apologies for not blogging lately! I had meant to add some favourite shots from 2011 but I’m not sure where January went to! I have completed most of my wedding fayres now – just two more to go – BROYLE PLACE on the 26th February 2012 and UPWALTHAM BARNS – 11th March 2012. The ones I have done were really busy – especially Wiston House, Buxted Park, South Lodge and Pennyhill Park. I am also busily booking in lots of pre-wedding shoots for my summer weddings this year – always love these during the Spring months with the blossom and colours.

Also looking forward to my first wedding of 2012 – this coming Saturday – Darren and Sally at Worth Church – a beautiful church which I have photographed at a couple of times.

2012 Wedding Fayres

It is that time again to get thinking about wedding fayres. If you are planning your wedding in 2012/13 or beyond, please pop along to one of the following venues – I would love to chat about your forthcoming wedding plans and show you some of my sample albums.

Sarah Critchlow Photography will be at:

Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot between 11.00 and 14.00 on the 22nd January 2012 – I then return to South Lodge Hotel for their suppliers open evening between 16.00 and 20.00 again on the 22nd January 2012. Next on the list is the 29th January 2012 – I shall be at Buxted Park Hotel in East Sussex as well as exhibiting at Wiston House near Steyning. After that I will be returning to South Lodge Hotel for the West Sussex County Times wedding fayre on Sunday 5th February 2012 and finally I shall be exhibiting at Broyle Place in East Sussex on the 26th February 2012. I will post up the Autumn dates as soon as I have them but will be regularly attending South Lodge for their suppliers open evenings throughout the year.

Eshoot at Hever Castle, Kent

Just before the New Year I met up with Amy & Rob at Hever Castle for their pre-wedding shoot ahead of their summer wedding at Buxted Park Hotel. I had never been to Hever before even though it is only 45 minutes away from me. Wow – what a fantastic place, the castle, surrounding buildings and architecture and the grounds are stunning. It was a cold day that we met but we had a bit of sunshine and really enjoyed chatting to Amy and Rob about their forthcoming wedding.

Definately on my wish list for 2012/13 are a couple of Castle weddings though – so if you are considering Hever Castle, Chiddingstone Castle or Leeds Castle in Kent or Hertsmonceux Castle in Sussex (I haven’t shot a wedding there for a little while) for your wedding venue – please give me a call !

Holly & Billy @ South Lodge – New Year’s Eve

Finished 2011 off with a fabulous wedding – Holly & Billy were married in Horsham and then travelled back the short distance to the stunning South Lodge Hotel. It is an honour for me to be recommended by this top West Sussex venue and have been for the past 5 years. As usual Mark was on hand as Toastmaster to ensure the day ran smoothly and we managed to get outside for some group shots and romantics – albeit very chilly! Holly & Billy and their family have clearly worked so hard on all the finishing touches and the room looked absolutely stunning with beautiful cup cakes for each guest. Holly had 7 bridesmaids in total, all in deep navy blue with fur boleros and some of the highest heals I’ve seen this year! Holly wore a stunning lace dress with an amazing bouquet of deep reds and oranges. The whole day was full of and laughter and a very happy bridesmaid who caught the bride’s bouquet. Here are a few images from their day.

Happy Christmas & a wonderful New Year – 2012 wedding fayres

May I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

As 2011 comes to a close I am looking at posting some of my favourite images on the blog as a round up. It has been a fantastic year with nearly 50 weddings completed around the UK – some wonderful new venues such as Woburn to working at my lovely, recommended hotels – BUXTED PARK, NEWICK PARK, PENNYHILL PARK, SOUTH LODGE, THE BINGHAM HOTEL to name a few. 2012 looks like it will be another fab year with extra bank holidays – 8 weddings booked in June 2012! I’m thrilled, as I look through the calender that bookings are strong for 2012 with 3/4 of the year’s dates filled already – I do have availability in the Spring and Autumn/Winter months still and a few odd dates in the summer.

I shall be heading out again shortly for the early weddings fayres and it would be wonderful to meet lots of new couples and hear about your forthcoming wedding plans. I also have a number of lovely new albums that will be on show for 2012.

As far as the remainder of 2011 goes – I am so looking forward to Holly and Billy New Year’s Eve wedding at South Lodge Hotel – can’t wait – pictures will be on the blog soon afterwards. Also heading over to Hever Castle on the 29th December for a final eshoot for Amy before she returns to Singapore ahead of her summer wedding back in the UK.

Charlotte & James @ Cuckfield Parish Church & Newick Park Hotel.

Last weekend was another busy weekend. Saturday was Charlotte & James’ wonderful vintage wedding at one of my favourite churches in Cuckfield followed by a wedding reception at the stunning Newick Park Hotel – one of my recommended venues and always a great venue to work at. We had clear weather albeit very cold but this did not stop Charlotte and James from having great fun with photos outside at some locations we had already checked out at their pre-wedding shoot. The following are a mixture of images using a variety of finishes including a few vintage feel images which I have selected. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

I am so fortunate to have Brighton just 20 minutes away. It is a great place for photography and I always love doing pre-wedding shoots there. I met up with Holly & Billy last weekend as well for their eshoot ahead of their New Year’s Eve wedding at South Lodge Hotel – can’t wait. We started off by the Pavillion and then headed to the Pier and the wonderful areas along the beach. Here are a few images from our morning.

I’ve also been finishing off my 2011 pre-wedding shoots over the last couple of weeks. I met up with Charlotte & James at the stunning Newick Park Hotel in preparation for their wedding next weekend. Charlotte and James like the vintage feel so I’ve added my own combination of tones to some of their images and will do so again for their wedding. We had the most stunning weather for a couple of hours walking around and exploring the grounds – fingers crossed it stays like this for next weekend!

Helen & Mark @ Ockenden Manor

This post is a little late I know but there was I thinking November would be quieter …..

So Helen & Mark’s gorgeous wedding a couple of weeks ago at Cuckfield Church and Ockenden Manor. The weather was not too kind to us but that did not stop a wonderful celebration. I love Cuckfield Church too and can’t wait to return next weekend for Charlotte & Jame’s wedding. Ockenden Manor is so cosy too and Helen and Mark and their family and friends had the hotel to themselves to enjoy their fabulous day. Here are a few images to view.
