Joanna & Ian @ St.Saviours Church, Sunbury & Great Fosters, Egham
28th December 2010 was my last wedding for what has been a super busy year for me. My journey into Surrey was really foggy and drizzly but I’m pleased to say the rain held off for us during the day. It was a particular pleasure to take Joanna & Ian’s wedding photos – Joanna was bridesmaid to Brooke & Sanjay last year which I had the pleasure to photograph and it was great to catch up with them again too. I initally travelled to Ian’s parents house where the girls were all getting ready and then onto St. Saviours Church. The ceremony was a wonderful, happy celebration with all the bridesmaids participating either in a reading or some wonderful singing. I must also say that I thought the girls hair and makeup was super – always good to have bridesmaids and friends who are also professional hair and makeup artists! After the ceremony mulled wine was served but timing was pressing and the light was dimming, so we headed off to the stunning Great Fosters in Egham. This was a welcome return to the hotel which I worked at some time ago and I’m pleased to say that this time it was not pouring with rain and we were able to get outside and get some amazing shots on the bridge and with Great Fosters in the background. The group shots were all completed by a lovely christmas tree in the orangery (many, many thanks to the Bestman and Ushers for all their help – most efficient and a great help to me). The wedding breakfast was held in the stunning tithe barn which absolutely twinkled with a roaring log fire, lanterns and candles. I have also included three photos taken of Joanna & Ian by the fireplace and christmas tree in reception and one in the corridor leading to the tithe barn. We were not supposed to use these areas for photos but I assured the GM I would be quick – no time for tripods so handheld shots in two really dark areas using my Canon 5DMII to the limit – super camera!
So this brings me to the end of my weddings for 2010 – it has been a fantastic year, travelling from Cumbria to Cornwall and many around Sussex and Surrey. My last blog over the next few days will be a roundup of the ‘best of the best’ suppliers I have worked with, my favourite images of the year and my favourite dresses, accessories etc.. I shall also be posting a 2011 Wedding Fayre update – starting in a couple of weeks at the exciting 2 day show at the Wintergardens in Eastbourne on the 8/9 January.
